Peer Robotics

Designed to work with humans

About Peer Robotics

Peer Robotics is transforming the manufacturing landscape with collaborative mobile robots that work alongside humans. We create complete material handling solutions that learn directly from human interactions, making it easy for shop floor workers to integrate and deploy our robots without needing technical expertise.

Our smart, flexible robots can automate existing tools like trolleys and pallets, helping manufacturers and warehouses enhance operations without requiring changes to their current infrastructure.

Role Overview

We’re looking for a Computer Vision Intern who is enthusiastic about solving real-world challenges in robotics. In this role, you’ll design and implement computer vision applications in ROS2 (using Python/C++), focusing on scene understanding, object detection, and segmentation in industrial environments. You’ll be responsible for developing models from the ground up, optimizing them for deployment on edge devices, and ensuring their performance in real settings.

Duration: 3 to 6 months, starting July 2025

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and prepare datasets from manufacturing and warehousing settings for use in vision models.

  • Train and deploy custom detection and segmentation models, including vision-language models (VLMs).

  • Optimize models for performance on edge devices like Jetson Orin Nano and Orin AGX in a ROS2 environment.

  • Research and present recent advancements in computer vision.

  • Visit customer locations for data collection, testing, and deployment.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a Master’s or PhD in Robotics or Computer Science.

  • Experience in deploying robotics systems on physical hardware.

  • Proficient in C++, Python, and RUST.

  • Strong foundation in computer vision.

  • Good communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building and scaling segmentation models for novel objects on edge hardware.
