About the Role
As a Computer Vision Model Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing high-performance computer vision models. You’ll focus on researching new architectures, experimenting with state-of-the-art techniques, and pushing the boundaries of computer vision (CV) capabilities. The role will involve leading projects on tasks like detection, segmentation, classification, and open-world learning. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, innovative environment and has a passion for deep learning and computer vision.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and prototype advanced computer vision models, including YOLO, OWL, and transformers.
- Conduct experiments for model benchmarking, hyperparameter tuning, and optimization of architectures.
- Collaborate with data engineers and pipeline engineers to create scalable, clean training datasets.
- Improve model performance for real-time inference, large-scale datasets, and complex CV tasks.
- Stay updated with the latest CV and machine learning research, applying advancements to model design.
- Contribute to internal research, publish reports, and participate in technical decision-making for model architecture.
- Work within MLOps workflows to package and deploy models efficiently.
Required Skills
- Strong experience in developing deep learning models with PyTorch (or TensorFlow).
- Expertise in computer vision algorithms: object detection, image classification, semantic/instance segmentation, and tracking.
- Hands-on experience with YOLO and OWL models.
- Proficient in hyperparameter tuning, loss function design, data augmentation, and performance metrics.
- Strong Python coding skills with familiarity in Linux/Ubuntu environments.
- Experience with AWS SageMaker or similar cloud-based ML platforms.
- Ability to understand and implement academic papers into practical solutions.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Electrical Engineering, or related field (PhD or published research is a plus).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with JAX/FLAX and transformer architectures.
- Familiarity with optimizing models for deployment (quantization, distillation).
- Experience working with vision-language models.
- Knowledge of synthetic data generation or self-supervised learning techniques.
- Contributions to open-source libraries or CV benchmarks.
