About the Role

As a Computer Vision Model Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing high-performance computer vision models. You’ll focus on researching new architectures, experimenting with state-of-the-art techniques, and pushing the boundaries of computer vision (CV) capabilities. The role will involve leading projects on tasks like detection, segmentation, classification, and open-world learning. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, innovative environment and has a passion for deep learning and computer vision.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and prototype advanced computer vision models, including YOLO, OWL, and transformers.
  • Conduct experiments for model benchmarking, hyperparameter tuning, and optimization of architectures.
  • Collaborate with data engineers and pipeline engineers to create scalable, clean training datasets.
  • Improve model performance for real-time inference, large-scale datasets, and complex CV tasks.
  • Stay updated with the latest CV and machine learning research, applying advancements to model design.
  • Contribute to internal research, publish reports, and participate in technical decision-making for model architecture.
  • Work within MLOps workflows to package and deploy models efficiently.

Required Skills

  • Strong experience in developing deep learning models with PyTorch (or TensorFlow).
  • Expertise in computer vision algorithms: object detection, image classification, semantic/instance segmentation, and tracking.
  • Hands-on experience with YOLO and OWL models.
  • Proficient in hyperparameter tuning, loss function design, data augmentation, and performance metrics.
  • Strong Python coding skills with familiarity in Linux/Ubuntu environments.
  • Experience with AWS SageMaker or similar cloud-based ML platforms.
  • Ability to understand and implement academic papers into practical solutions.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Electrical Engineering, or related field (PhD or published research is a plus).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with JAX/FLAX and transformer architectures.
  • Familiarity with optimizing models for deployment (quantization, distillation).
  • Experience working with vision-language models.
  • Knowledge of synthetic data generation or self-supervised learning techniques.
  • Contributions to open-source libraries or CV benchmarks.

Benefits

  • 401(k)
  • Dental, health, and vision insurance
  • Opportunities for continuous learning and development
  • Equal-opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion.
