About the Role
Zebra is looking for a talented Application Engineer – Machine Vision to support customers and contribute to the development of advanced machine vision solutions. This hybrid role combines hands-on feasibility testing, technical consulting, and product enhancement initiatives. As a key technical expert, this role assists in pre-sales evaluations, supports integration challenges, and facilitates knowledge sharing through training and documentation.
Responsibilities
- Execute advanced feasibility studies using Zebra’s machine vision software tools
- Provide Tier 2 technical support for customer inquiries
- Participate in the development of machine vision applications and features
- Support technical requirement gathering during the pre-sales phase
- Prepare project scope and time estimates for custom solutions
- Deliver training and technical seminars to internal teams and external clients
- Create documentation and sample code for Zebra’s machine vision tools
- Develop live demonstration systems for trade shows and customer events
- Conduct performance benchmarking and competitive analysis
- Ensure compatibility with third-party machine vision hardware
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mechatronics, automation, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in a machine vision engineering role
- In-depth knowledge of image processing techniques and algorithms
- Strong understanding of cameras, optics, and lighting systems
- Excellent problem-solving skills and strong communication abilities
- Familiarity with industrial communication standards and protocols
- Basic knowledge of machine learning and performance metrics
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Linux-based systems
- Proficiency in C++ or C# programming
- Familiarity with version control systems like Git or SVN
- Understanding of PLC programming is a plus
