STARK

A new chapter in European defence.

About the Company

STARK is redefining defense technology by creating scalable, software-defined unmanned systems built for high performance and rapid deployment. With a focus on delivering real-world capability—not future concepts—STARK equips NATO allies and partners with cutting-edge autonomous systems designed to maintain technological superiority in contested environments. The company operates at the intersection of speed, scale, and innovation, with a mission to defend Europe today—not tomorrow.

About the Role

This role centers on the development and deployment of real-time computer vision algorithms that enable advanced autonomy for STARK’s unmanned platforms. The successful candidate will contribute directly to core vision systems such as object detection, target tracking, re-identification, and guidance, with full-cycle involvement from design through integration on live hardware. The position offers the opportunity to influence mission-critical systems in a dynamic, fast-paced startup environment focused on delivering immediate capability to the field.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement computer vision algorithms including object detection, tracking, and target re-identification
  • Write clean, efficient code in Python and C++ to support real-time deployment on autonomous hardware platforms
  • Participate in system architecture planning, software design, and integration workflows
  • Deploy and optimize algorithms on real-world systems operating in complex environments
  • Monitor and evaluate new advancements in vision-based AI, recommending improvements where applicable
  • Collaborate closely with engineering teams to resolve technical challenges and ensure robust system performance
  • Continuously question requirements and challenge assumptions to drive product efficiency and effectiveness

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Robotics, Autonomous Systems, or a related technical field
  • Proficiency in computer vision algorithm design and implementation
  • Strong programming skills in Python and C++
  • Experience with autonomous vehicles, robotics, or aerospace applications
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex systems and deliver practical solutions in real time
  • Strong communication skills and an ability to thrive in multidisciplinary, mission-driven teams
  • Willingness to travel and support field deployments as needed
  • Adaptability to work in a startup environment that values speed, innovation, and responsibility
