About the Role

As a Computer Vision Scientist at Lubrizol, you will lead the development and deployment of ML/AI-driven image analysis solutions that empower product development and enable data-driven decision-making across the enterprise. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to mine insights from complex visual data, enhancing Lubrizol’s technical capabilities in mobility, wellbeing, and sustainability. This is a unique opportunity to apply advanced computer vision, image processing, and data science techniques to real-world challenges in the specialty chemicals sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop computer vision solutions using neural networks and advanced image processing techniques.
• Deploy algorithms and build predictive models by mining and analyzing complex visual data sets.
• Partner with business and technical teams to address challenges through data science and deep learning applications.
• Collaborate with data scientists and subject matter experts on algorithm development, visualization, and system design.
• Maintain and support data analytics systems, ensuring seamless day-to-day operations and troubleshooting as needed.
• Deliver training sessions on data analysis methodologies and tools to elevate organizational capability in AI and data science.

Key Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Vision, Data Science, Statistics, Machine Learning, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Strong foundation in machine learning methods, with a focus on computer vision and image analysis.
• Proficiency in Python for complex algorithm development; familiarity with JavaScript, C++, relational databases, and SQL is a plus.
• Ability to process and analyze large, complex datasets efficiently.
• Strong problem-solving and deductive reasoning skills with attention to detail.
• Creative, curious, and eager to learn and apply new technologies in practical contexts.
• Effective communication skills in English; Spanish language skills are an added advantage.
• Comfortable collaborating across multidisciplinary teams, including scientists and technical professionals.
