About the Role
The Senior Computer Vision Engineer role offers the opportunity to work on some of the most advanced challenges in sports technology. Based in Basingstoke, London, or Bristol (hybrid model – two office days per week), this position focuses on developing and optimising computer vision algorithms, advancing AI platforms, and leading solutions that are deployed globally. With a salary range of £64,150 – £85,540 per annum, this role is ideal for an expert ready to innovate at scale while mentoring the next generation of engineers.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and optimise algorithms for both CPU and GPU
- Enhance computer vision processing systems and AI platforms
- Manage full life cycle development of projects in collaboration with product and development teams
- Create advanced tools and support colleagues in their implementation
- Report project progress and highlight potential challenges
- Mentor and guide junior team members while driving innovation
Required Skills
- Expertise in computer vision algorithms and techniques
- Advanced proficiency in C++
- Strong experience in CPU and GPU performance optimisation
- Solid knowledge of networking, concurrency, and operating systems
- Proficiency with Git, Visual Studio, and CUDA
- Demonstrated ability to tackle complex technical problems
- Proven experience in guiding and mentoring team members
- Strong understanding of commercial implications and scalability of solutions
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with skeletal tracking and machine learning
- Familiarity with ML libraries and frameworks
- Experience with OpenCV, Ceres, and Qt
- Exposure to agile development practices and collaboration tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and Slack
- Background in sports technology or real-time tracking systems
