About the role:
As a Risk Analyst, you’ll bring clarity and consistency to how risks are identified, assessed and managed across our water and wastewater assets.
You’ll own the county Risk Register, validate evidence, analyse trends and work with teams across the business to ensure risks are captured accurately and acted on effectively.
Your insight helps shape investment decisions, improve data quality and strengthen the resilience of essential services.
What you will be doing:
- Maintain and govern the Risk Register for the assigned asset base and geographic area, ensuring compliance with the WRAP framework and ISO 55000 principles.
- Validate and quantify risks by collaborating with Operations and Engineering, and interrogating asset performance systems to identify or predict deterioration.
- Provide risk insights and reporting for Tier 1–3 meetings, Business Unit Risk Assessments (BURA), and leadership teams, supporting regulatory submissions with robust audit trails.
- Update and review risk status post-intervention projects, confirm benefits realised, and contribute to continuous improvement of risk management strategies and methodologies.
- Collaborate and peer review across regions to ensure best practice, identify training needs, and progress regulatory risks (e.g., Reg 28, DWSP) while supporting business case development.
- Champion resource prioritisation by supporting endorsement and allocation of business resources to address critical risks aligned to a prioritised list of asset issues.
- Represent the Risk Manager at meetings with stakeholders, as necessary
What you’ll bring:
- Relevant educational qualifications and/or or relevant Water Industry experience
- Ability to analyse data with good coordination and planning skills having a methodical mind-set and attention to detail.
- Ideally a Certificate in Asset Management or willingness to work towards professional membership IAM, CIWEM, ICE etc.
- Communicate with a wide range of stakeholders to champion compliance with the WRAP framework.
- Be computer literate, be familiar with common computer software package such a Windows, Excel and Powerpoint.
- Excellent organisational skills to collate and analyse data and maintain robust audit trails to decision making.
- A valid driving license is essential.
