About the Role
Hover is seeking a visionary Computer Vision Engineer to spearhead the development of core components within its 3D data platform. This role is ideal for an engineer passionate about turning advanced research into production-ready solutions that address complex spatial problems. The position involves full lifecycle ownership—from algorithm design and rapid prototyping to deployment of robust, scalable systems. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, this role will bridge the gap between research innovation and impactful product delivery.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement cutting-edge computer vision algorithms focused on 3D reconstruction, scene understanding, and semantic modeling.
- Drive the complete lifecycle of computer vision solutions, from research and prototyping to production-grade software deployment.
- Collaborate with design, frontend, backend, graphics, and DevOps teams to ensure seamless platform integration.
- Provide technical leadership by mentoring engineers and influencing architectural decisions.
- Translate academic research into practical solutions that deliver business value.
- Stay at the forefront of computer vision advancements, integrating the latest technologies into Hover’s product offerings.
Required Skills
- Proven experience developing 3D reconstruction algorithms in academic or industrial settings.
- Deep expertise in multi-view geometry, object detection, pose estimation, structured 3D reconstruction, and optimization techniques.
- Strong background in deep learning model development and implementation.
- Demonstrated ability to take technical ownership and independently drive projects.
- Proficiency in C++ or Python for rapid prototyping and algorithm development.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for solving complex technical challenges.
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD in a field related to 3D reconstruction or computer vision.
- Research experience with publications in top-tier conferences such as CVPR, ICCV, ECCV.
- Experience developing robust, maintainable production-level codebases.
- Familiarity with scaling computer vision systems in real-world applications.
